In honor of my Grandma Gariepy's recent birthday and my desire to procrastinate work on my final papers, I thought I would restart the blog. :-)

A lot has changed since my last blog post. I must admit I have not made bruschetta grilled cheese since then (although I still claim it as one of my best culinary ideas) and my sister Erin is definitely not a vegetarian (if you want proof ask her about the time she ordered a veggie burger with bacon). I am currently finishing up my second semester of graduate school and I love it. This semester I have been spending three days a week in a kindergarten classroom where I have taken on the identity of "Ms. Garcia." Young children are wonderfully exciting, eager, and earnest. I am constantly challenged by their enthusiasm and wholehearted nature.

The attached picture is an excerpt from a book one of my student's wrote on trees. The text says "Roots can grow to 100 and 100 miles" I thought the drawing was particularly artistic.
